Capturing a Hotel Magdalena Wedding Day in Austin

There is something so timeless about a wedding that embraces every small detail. Weaving together these moments into a day that feels like an editorial spread is so magical. That’s exactly what happened at this beautiful editorial wedding shoot at Hotel Magdalena in Austin, TX. It was a day steeped in old money vibes and brought to like through the rich textures and colors of this boutique hotel. Come along and see how we captured the whole day, from beginning to end!

getting ready: a picture-perfect start

The day began in the hotel’s stunning green-tiled bathroom, where the bride prepped for her big day. The vintage tiles set such a stylish tone, while the chic hotel bed provided the perfect backdrop for capturing those intimate getting-ready photos. Every detail was considered, from the luxurious fabrics and colors of the hotel interior, to the timeless getting ready dress the bride brought.

Ceremony details: a moody and magical scene

In this ceremony space, we were surrounded by moody green curtains that framed the room with such an inviting warmth. The wood chairs added a touch of rustic and natural charm. All of this was perfectly complimented by the lush flowers and moss installation that served as the focal point for their ceremony. The atmosphere was both elegant and relaxed, creating a setting that felt deeply personal and beautifully hand crafted.

The Day's vibrant details

Throughout the day, the bride carried multiple bouquets, each one thoughtfully designed to enhance the overall aesthetic of their day. One bouquet, in particular, stood out with its vibrant red and maroon flowers. These rich hues really popped against the green surroundings, adding a bold splash of color. They also had tables and seating weaved throughout, so there were ample locations to take their gorgeous wedding portraits.

Late night dance party: an intimate ending

After a full day of love and celebration, the bride and groom returned to their hotel room for a quick outfit change before heading back out for a late-night dance party. But before they did, we took a moment to capture some intimate, candid shots in the hotel bed and even in the elevator. These moments felt so private yet full of so much joy.
