Sustainable Weddings

Many couples these days are looking to plan more sustainable weddings, and I’m loving it. My own upcoming wedding in Tennessee is completely off-the-grid and with zero waste this October (even the chef is cooking on an open fire)! I find that couples are trying to be more intentional about traditions (or lack thereof), wedding waste, and spending. Repurposing dresses will be huge, made evident by the viral TikTok videos. More sustainable wedding ideas that may be making an appearance this 2024 wedding season are sustainable wedding invitations, sustainable meals, and eco friendly wedding venues.

Wedding Weekends

There’s been a rise of the experienced-based wedding like weekend weddings and a rise in hiring performers and chefs to elevate guest experience. This includes a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, and a wedding brunch. Maybe the popularity in this is due to celebration suppression during COVID, but I can see it continuing to be a popular wedding trend come 2024! Many realize that weekend weddings allow you to make the most of your special occasion and prolong the celebrations with those closest to you.

Micro Weddings

Plan smarter not harder! Couples are opting for luxurious, personal and intimate weddings versus the traditional wedding with hundreds of guests. When you cut your guest list significantly, wedding planning becomes so much easier. You’ll have more venue options because of your smaller guest count and you’ll save quite a bit of money in the process too. It’s no wonder micro weddings are trending and why they made the 2024 wedding trends list!

Personalized traditions

Many couples are breaking the mold when it comes to wedding traditions! Personalized traditions such as getting ready together, walking down the aisle alone, and no bridal parties are becoming more and more popular, and I’m loving it! Adding your own personal wedding traditions is what will make your wedding stand out, and truly honor your love story. Retro Wedding Styles

Retro wedding styles are making a comeback, from retro wedding dresses to muted colors! Many retro weddings are including fun things such as disposable cameras, wedding dresses with puff sleeves, pearled veils and hairstyles, and retro wedding décor and additions like disco balls. Wedding Dress Codes

Wedding dress codes are also making a popular appearance, and I know it’s something we’ll see more of with 2024 wedding trends. Implementing a wedding dress code ensures that all the guests fall within the same color palette which can really give your wedding photos a tailored vibe. According to Ubersuggest, the search “wedding dress code” had an estimated search of 9.9 thousand searches within one month alone, showing it’s popularity.

Wedding Dress Separates

Brides have been opting for dresses that separate now more then ever, and its something I don’t think we’ll be seeing any less of come 2024 wedding trends. Many brides want more than one look for their wedding, so when they’re shopping for wedding dresses, they’re opting for dresses that separate. Dress separates can range from gloves, top separates, neck scarfs, detachable sleeves, hooded wedding veils, and dresses that completely transform. Separates give the bride two different wedding looks without having to buy two different dresses for their special day.
